We wanted to congratulate the Spring 2024 graduates who completed the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training this past week in April! With over 27 presentations, three site visits at, Recovery Café Lafayette , LTHC Homeless Services , and The Living Room, they were given the resources to help safely and effectively do their jobs in various crisis situations. CIT is a 40-hour specialized training for law enforcement that NAMI-WCI facilitates twice a year. The training is a community partnership of law enforcement, mental health professionals, consumers of mental health services, and family members.Thank you to the 20 members from Carroll County Sheriff's Office Indiana Tippecanoe County Community Corrections Delphi Police Department Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Purdue University Police Department-PUPD Tippecanoe County Probation, Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office West Lafayette Police White County Community Corrections, and White County Indiana Sheriff's Office for taking the time to help better the future of mental health! We would also like to thank everyone who found strength to tell their stories. Sharing a vulnerable moment isn't always easy, and we are grateful to those who sat on our panels, presentations, and talked at site visits.
