Finding hope in knowing you’re not alone.
We've moved!(take the tour)
Come see us at our new building at 913 Columbia St in downtown Lafayette! We don't know yet if this will be our permanent home or if it is a temporary stay, but it isn't going to stop us from providing free-of-cost mental health support to our community!
All of our Support Group meetings have now been moved to our new location.
After 5 PM you can park on Columbia Street in front of our building. You must enter the side door as the front door is permanently locked. You can use the map and photo below as reference or contact email@example.com with any questions you might have.
NAMI-WCI has appreciated everyone's patience while we complete our transition to the new building!

On February 27, 2019 NAMI-WCI held its 2nd annual Beautiful Mind's Gala celebrating the lives of musicians who have lived or live with mental illness. The MC of this year's event was "Carol Burnett" portrayed by Stephanie Bosma. NAMI-WCI appreciates the tireless efforts of the actors, volunteers, coordinators, and guests who helped make the event an astounding success. We look forward to next year! NAMI-WCI BEAUTIFUL MINDS FUNDRAISING GALA 2019
Every year, nearly one in five Americans is diagnosed with a mental illness.
Chances are, you know of someone who has been affected whether it’s a family member, neighbor, or co-worker. For the past two years, there has been a mental health crisis in Tippecanoe County. Simply, there are not enough psychiatrists or licensed clinicians to accommodate the need for services.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) West Central Indiana continues to be an agency who provides support and education to the community at no cost. We are fielding more and more phone calls every day of people who are desperately seeking treatment but are told there are waiting lists to see a psychiatrist or clinician.
NAMI-WCI does not provide therapeutic services but we offer support, education, and training. NAMI-WCI relies on memberships, donations, grants and fundraisers to provide the needed support.
Last year’s fundraising Gala was such a success, we are planning for the 2019 Beautiful Minds Gala. The Gala will be held February 27, 2019 in the North Ballroom at the Purdue Memorial Union. Musicians who have a mental health condition will be celebrated. The event will have actors portraying Brian Wilson, Adele, and Mama Cass Elliot just to name a few. There will be live music and we are planning on the biggest crowd yet.
You may purchase tickets individually or by the table by creating a group and inviting your guests. If you wish to donate, please select the individual option under tickets. Thank you so much for your participation. You can purchase tickets by clicking the link below:
In the spring of 2016, Tippecanoe County was facing an acute mental health provider crisis. Patients were seeing months-long waiting periods, and some providers had closed their waiting lists altogether.
In response to this crisis, the Tippecanoe County Mental Healthcare Forum was formed with leaders of area agencies to address possible solutions. After 2 years, they have published the results of their collaborative efforts.

"Beautiful Minds" Gala
On February 22nd, NAMI West Central Indiana held its first "Beautiful Minds Gala". We celebrated the amazing achievements of visual artists living with mental illness. 16 costumed actors portraying these artists were mingling with guests and sharing their stories of challenges and triumphs. It was a great event - in the words of NAMI-WCI vice president Carol Santos: "Those who are not here, will come to regret it!"
