The NAMI Family to Family class is evidence based.

The course provides participants with vital information, insight and understanding of their loved one living with mental illness.  Many describe the Family-to-Family education course as Life-Changing.

Trained volunteer NAMI West Central Indiana family members teach the course.

Class meets weekly on Wednesdays:  September 23 - November 14th, 2020  6:30—9:00 p.m

Participants will need:

1. Stable Internet Connection
2. Computer with Camera and Microphone, (or headset with microphone)
3. Access to Printer to print weekly class materials

Purdue Student NAMI Connections Group

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who've been there.

NAMI’s support groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure you and others in the group have an opportunity to be heard and to get what you need.

• Free of cost to participants
• Designed for adults (18+) with mental health conditions
• Led by people with mental health conditions
• 90 minutes long and meets weekly, every other week or monthly (varies by location)
• No specific medical therapy or treatment is endorsed
• Confidential

What You’ll Gain

By sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting, you can gain hope and feel a sense of connection. The group encourages empathy, productive discussion and a sense of community. You'll benefit from other's experiences, discover your inner strength and empower yourself by sharing your own experiences in a non-judgmental space.

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group will help you:

• Aim for better coping skills
• Find strength in sharing experiences
• Not judge anyone's pain
• Forgive ourselves and reject guilt
• Embrace humor as healthy
• Accept that we cannot solve every problem
• Understand that mental health conditions are no one's fault and can be traumatic experiences

This particular group is for Purdue students only and will meet on Wednesdays from 7:00pm - 8:30pm beginning September 9th, 2020.

Painting with a Purpose

One of our fun satellite events that will accompany this year's "Beautiful Minds" Gala

February 17  from 7 pm to 9 pm

Your $ 35 fee for the class and materials will be donated to NAMI-WCI 
and you will go home with your own painting!

"Loving Vincent"

Later this year,  NAMI-on-Campus Purdue will host a showing of 
"Loving Vincent," the acclaimed animated saga of Vincent van Gogh's 
art and struggle with mental illness.

The NAMI Fall Classic 5K will be a virtual event this year. It will be held from October 1st through December 31st.
