Do you over-apologize?
Break the cycle.
Replace the negative with a positive.

ID: Replacing "I'm sorry" with "thank you"

Instead of "I'm sorry I'm late"
You could say, "Thank you for waiting on me"

Instead of "I'm sorry I've been so needy lately"
You could say, "Thank you for being there for me"

Instead of "I'm sorry to ask for another favor"
You could say, "Thank you for helping me out"

Instead of "I'm sorry I made a mistake"
You could say, "Thank you for pointing out my mistake"

Instead of "I'm sorry but I can't make it tonight"
You could say, "Thank you for inviting me"

Instead of "I'm sorry for being emotional"
You could say, "Thank you for loving me"

Instead of "I'm sorry for being distant"
You could say, "Thank you for being understanding"
